David Favre at the Master in Animal Law and society: Animals as Living Property

Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd of May 2014, from 3:30 PM, in the Aula 1 of the Faculty of Law at UAB, Professor David Favre will be lecturing at the 3rd edition of the Master in Animal Law and Society on: Animals as Living Property.

Dr. Favre has been for over thirty years professor of animal law and civil law at Michigan State University. During this time, Prof. Favre has written various contributions and books on animal law, covering also topics such as cruelty to animals, the use of animals for scientific research, and the international control over commercial activities with animals. In 2002 he has founded the prestigious web page www.animallaw.info, which offers an online database with legislation and policies regarding this topic.

Prof. FAVRE is not only lecturer of the Master, but he has also collaborated with the Grupo de InvestigaciĆ³n Animales, Derecho y Sociedad (SGR-GRE) of UAB in the coordination of theses. He is also current member of the coordination committee of the 2nd Global Animal Law Conference, which will take place in Barcelona, from the 11thto the 12th of July 2014.
