ABSTRACT

A report on novelties on legislation and jurisprudence in Germany in recent months. The report by Ms. Havenstein, a graduate of the second edition of the Master in Animal Law and Society, discusses three situations that have had special prominence in Germany in recent months, specifically cases involving the disposal of male chicks at chicken hatcheries, the uncovering of animal abuse at a large pig holding, and the prison sentence of a man convicted of animal abuse against his dog.
