Sixty four birds of endangered species confiscated in a travelling market

Two men have been charged by the Mossos d’Esquadra [Autonomous Police Force] for selling endangered species birds, violating the ban established against the hunting and sale of these animals in the Law of Animal Protection of Catalonia.

Police agents seized 64 Fringillidae birds (such as goldfinches, greenfinches, sparrows and an exotic canary) which the accused men tried to sell in a travelling market in Cornellá. One of these men had already accumulated 9,000 Euros in previous fines.
