New municipal ordinance on animal ownership in Aguilar de la Frontera (Córdoba)


A new municipal ordinance on animal ownership has been approved by the Municipal Government of Aguilar de la Frontera (Córdoba).

As of today, various infractions which were not penalized with a fine will now have associated fines. An example of this is the fine fixed between 75 and 500 Euros for not picking up the excrement left by one´s animals.

With the goal of raising awareness among citizens, the Municipal Government is running an awareness campaign and giving out bags to use.

Another new element is the obligation for animals to wear a leash in parks or Gardens where there are children´s playgrounds. This new measure comes with a fine in case of non-compliance.

Animal abuse is another one of the modifications, which can now include fines up to 30,000 euros.
