Man charged for abuse and abandonment of six dogs


The Service for the Protection of Nature (SEPRONA) Patrol of Fuerteventura has charged a man for the presumed crime of animal abuse and abandonmentin the town of La Oliva. As a result of a report made by a local in the past month of January, SEPRONA agents discovered 6 hounds, 2 of which were deceased and the rest in an evident state of malnutrition, in a location without the conditions required by Law 8/1991, of 30 April, on the protection of animals in the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.

Still awaiting the correspoding judicial decision, SEPRONA will inform the corresponding administrative body, with the goal of starting the correspnding sanctioning report in the case that there is no criminal responsibility.
