Bullfighting contradicts the Declaration of Rights of the Child, a UN Report advises


From the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child will recommend that member countries revise their bullfighting legislation to ensure that the legislation complies with the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The first country evaluated is Portugal, which has already received two severe warnings, one on the minimum age to enter into bullfighting schools and another in regards to the minimum age of spectators (access the report).

Spain will also be examined, with an announcement along the same line as that made by Portugal expected.

The Fundación Franz Weber is promoting the “Infancy without violence” campaign, advising the Committee on the Rights of the Child with regards to bullfighting.
