New Charges for Horses’ Deaths and Horse Trafficking in a Riding School

In October 2013, the press reported the arrest of the owner of a riding school in Jaén where various horses were found dead and buried, and others in a state of malnutrition and in terrible hygienic and sanitary conditions (previous news).

During the investigation, which is still open, the Civil Guard has charged six people with presumed crimes of animal abuse and document falsification, and it may be that these are implicated in a supposed horse trafficking ring outside of the prescribed sanitary controls.
