Fine of 2000 Euros for abandoning a dog

A resident of Viladecans (Barcelona) has been sentenced by the Generalitat [Regional Government] to pay a fine of 2001 Euros for abandoning her dog. The animal required a surgical operation, the cost of which, after requesting help from an animal protection association, she refused to assume. The puppy, which did not have the microchip, was found by the Local Police of Viladecans and the investigation performed by Rural Agents of the Generalitat were able to prove that this dog belonged to this woman.

The sanctioning report was initiated by a report from the FAADA Foundation. For its part, the association ASS intends to sue in court for the costs assumed in order to perform the emergency operation on the animal.
