Two female directors of Valle Colino charged with animal abuse


The director of the regional shelter in Valle Colino (Tenerife) and the president of the Federación Canaria de Asociaciones de Animales y Plantas [Canary Federation of Plant and Animal Associations] (Fecapap) have been charged for the presumed crime of animal abuse as established in article 337 of the Penal Code, based on the existence of signs related with the practice of euthanasia on dogs who enjoyed a state of good health.

This private prosecutor in this procedure is the Canary Association for the Platform against Animal Abuse (PMA); according to this source, the shelter euthanasia may have been performed for the last eight years in an illegal manner.
