Dogs can detect colo cancer

2011.02.07

Researchers in Kyushu University in Fukuoka (Japan) have shown that dogs can detect colorectal cancer through their sense of smell and have suggested that dogs may also be able to identify skin, bladder, lung, ovary and breast cancers by smell.

According to Hideto Sonoda of the Kyushu University, "The specific cancer scent indeed exists, but the chemical compounds are not clear. Only the dog knows the true answer."
